The Northwestern Institute for Complexity (NICO) at Northwestern University seeks multiple post-doctoral researchers interested in problems of far-reaching, broad ranging research on complex systems. NICO is an interdisciplinary research institute that enjoys membership of faculty from the physical, social, and humanity sciences. The position may involve theoretical modeling, computations, experiments, and writing proposals. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in physics, engineering, or information sciences with experience in areas such as statistical physics, time-series and nonlinear dynamics, simulations, or data science. Strong writing skills, demonstrated success in conducting high impact research, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills are mandatory. 2 and 3 year appointments begin immediately. The research will be performed at Northwestern University located in a culturally and socially diverse Chicago suburb on the shores of Lake Michigan under the direction of NICO faculty who are leading experts in complex systems in their respective scientific disciplines.
